FALL COLOR GETAWAYS
You’ll fall in love with autumn on Beech Mountain. Find some of the earliest fall colors since Beech Mountain is the highest town in the Eastern United States! The crisp autumn nights and first colors usually arrive by mid September. With our 1,000+ foot elevation difference in town, colors usually peak by early October with colorful views into the valley extending for weeks more.
To experience the fall foliage show, just take a few steps from your vacation rental or lodge and hit the trails. As a designated “NC Trail Town“, Beech offers 27 miles of trails conveniently on the mountain. Hike ridgetops with big views, lush forests and by lakes with colorful reflections.
If you love outdoor adventures, there is no shortage with mountain biking, fishing, kayaking and birding. At Buckeye Recreation Center, find tennis, volleyball, pickleball and basketball. The kids will love exploring an adventure tower and several playgrounds. Your furry friends will love playing in the Bark Park.
Did you know? Beech is located near other fall favorite destinations including Grandfather Mountain, Blue Ridge Parkway, wineries, Watauga Lake, Banner Elk and Boone (home to Appalachian State Football!).
Make it a group trip! There are lodging options for groups of all sizes from condos, chalets, and private homes, to quaint inns & lodges, with many budget friendly options. Perfect for bro-cations, girl’s getaways, multi-gen bonding, and extended friend or family getaways.
