OUTDOOR NC TRAIL TOWN
Beech Mountain is honored and delighted to participate in Outdoor NC’s Trail Town Program. The program celebrates places across North Carolina dedicated to preserving the natural beauty and cultural heritage while fostering a strong sense of place. These destinations are championing stewardship, accessible outdoors and responsible recreation to sustain the great outdoors for future generations.
Beech Mountain is the highest town in eastern America and home to parks, lakes, and trails, some of which are partially or fully accessible. Beech Mountain welcomes all visitors to experience the natural beauty offered here and is committed to sharing all our accessible and inclusive outdoor spaces and continually improving the information provided.
Explore 27 miles of maintained biking and hiking trails, plus a paved Greenway, maintained by the town’s Park and Recreation team. Paddle a canoe or kayak on Buckeye Lake (free rentals!). During the winter months, ski and snowboard 17 trails at Beech Mountain Resort, the highest ski area in the Eastern USA.
