Westerly Hills Trail

Westerly Hills

Canterwood Road
Beech Mountain, NC 28604

828-387-3003

(4.5 miles, moderate) This remote trail is great for snowshoeing, mountain biking, cross-country running and hiking. Since this trail is more isolated, you will be immersed in the forest with nothing but the sounds of birds and the trees. Trails follow roadbeds that were designed for a development that was never built, so you’ll find easy grades and wooded scenery.

Tucked away two miles below Buckeye Lake on Buckeye Creek Road. Find two access points for parking: at Gumtree Road on the left (1.1 miles past Buckeye Lake) and Canterwood Road (1.8 miles past Buckeye Lake).
