(4 miles roundtrip, moderate) A favorite for mountain biking, hiking and snowshoeing, this woodland trail begins near Buckeye Recreation Center and ascends along Grass Gap Creek and ends at Hawthorne Road. The gradual uphill trek climbs almost 900 in elevation in two miles. It’s rugged and provides a potpourri of mountain scenery along the way, including a cascading stream. Photographers rejoice! There are a few gravel road crossings and turns, so watch for trail signs. It intersects and follows Red Fox / Arrowhead Trail for about a half mile.
