(1.6 miles roundtrip, moderate) Beginning at the Buckeye Recreation Center, take a pleasant hike through a serene forest around the scenic lake. Tall trees, dappled sunlight, and the earthy scent of pine create a tranquil atmosphere. It’s a fun hike for the entire family and most fitness levels. Both hiking and biking are allowed. Afterwards, relax on a bench to enjoy lake views or explore the adjacent facilities with an additional walking path.
UPDATE FOR 2025: Due to flood damage from Hurricane Helene in September 2024, a bridge is out on the trail. When hiking from the Recreation Center around the right side of the lake, the bridge is about a mile into the hike. So, you may hike a 2-mile out and back instead.
