If you are looking for true peace and quiet, you’ll find it during spring on Beech Mountain. Sandwiched between winter’s snows and skiing crowds, and summer’s cool breezes and vacationing families, you’ll experience the natural world as it awakens from a winter’s sleep. The town of Beech Mountain is famed for the abundant wildlife that lives in communion with man here. Spring is the time to see mother deer with their young, trout filling the streams, birds migrating along the NC Birding Trail, and maybe even a shy bear or two.
Be aware that many of our restaurants and attractions in the region are closed or on limited hours while they prepare for the summer rush. But you’ll always be able to find breakfast and lunch at Fred’s General Mercantile, dinner on Tuesday, Friday or Saturday at the Beech Alpen Inn, lunch or dinner most days at Mi Jalisco or a cup of coffee at Poppy’s Coffee Shop from late March through April. For a complete list of all our restaurants and their off-season hours, stop by the Beech Mountain Visitor Center or call us at 828-387-9283.
