Will it snow during my visit?
Yes, that is a frequently asked question, and we will let you know as soon as Mother Nature tells us.

How do I get to the ski resort?
The driveway entrance to the resort (1007 Beech Mountain Parkway) is beside the Alpine Ski Center building, across from Holland Realty. The sign on your left will say Beech Mountain Resort.

Where’s the Beech Mountain Resort’s overflow parking lot?
The resort’s overflow parking in located at 400 Beech Mountain Parkway, in the field adjacent to Brick Oven Pizzeria. When in use, visitors should park in the lot and a free shuttle will take them to the resort and back.

How do I get to the Emerald Outback Trail System?
Follow Beech Mountain Parkway past the center of Town until you reach the 3-way fork. Stay left to get on North Pinnacle Ridge Rd. The trailhead is located 1.4 miles down the road. Read more about the Emerald Outback.

Where would I find a trail and road map?
Come by the Beech Mountain Visitor Center – 403 Beech Mountain Parkway – to pick up your complimentary map of all trails and roads on the mountain. If you are driving up from Banner Elk, look for it on the left shortly after arriving in town.

How do I dispose of waste?
If you are renting a unit in a multi-home complex, garbage must be deposited in the blue Republic dumpsters on site. Single family homes should have a bear-proof bin for trash disposal.

Who has access to the convenience center?
The Town’s Convenience Center is accessible by permit only to Town residents. Visitors do not have access to the center.

What is the speed limit?
The Town wide speed limit of 25 mph is strictly enforced.

Do I need a license to fish on Beech Mountain?
Yes. Fishing licenses can be purchase at Fred’s General Mercantile or a three-day temporary license can be purchased on-line from Mountain Heritage Trout Waters.

What is the Town of Beech Mountain’s pet policy?
Pets are welcomed throughout the town and must be kept on a leash on all roads and trails. Various business may have their own pet policy, please check with the establishment you are planning to patronage before you visit. The Town of Beech Mountain also so has a Bark Park located behind the Sledding Hill on Bark Park Way. Read more!

Is there strong cell service on Beech Mountain?
Signal strength will vary depending on the location. If you are near the top of the mountain, Verizon customers usually experience clear signals. At the Overlook and Ski Resort, AT&T customers may have good reception, since their tower is located just above the ski village.

Is there anywhere on Beech Mountain that provides free Wi-Fi?
Both the Visitor Center and the Buckeye Recreation Center provide Wi-Fi for their guests to use. Many of the business on the mountain also provide free access.

Does GPS work on Beech Mountain?
There are certain areas of the mountain where GPS is unreliable and will lead you down the wrong path. While visiting our town, it is best to pick-up a free map from the Visitor Center.

Where can I park?
There’s a Pay to Park public lot located on Bark Park Way. Please do not park in commercial business parking lots (unless you are a patron), private homes or driveways, or in the parking lots of condo complexes. Hiking trails have limited parking spaces at the trailhead. Please see trail map, available for free at the Visitor Center, for specific locations.

Can I park overnight at the Pay to Park lot?
Yes, overnight parking is allowed, and special rates apply. Please refer to the parking app for pricing details.

Does Uber operate on the mountain?
Uber does not operate on Beech Mountain. For a list of Taxi and shuttle services, please pass by our Visitor Center or call 828-387-9283.

Is there a gas station on Beech Mountain?
No. The closest gas station is an Exxon station located about 10 minutes away at the intersection of Main Street and Hwy 194 in Banner Elk. Visitors should consider filling their tanks before driving up the mountain.

Are there any EV Charging stations on Beech Mountain?
Yes, electric vehicle charging stations are located at the Pay to Park lot. The use of the station is free, but parking rates apply.

What are the lodging options Beech Mountain?
Besides the many homes, cabins and condos available for rent, Beech Mountain offers country inns and lodges to meet your needs. Please visit our lodging page for further details.

Are there campgrounds on Beech Mountain?
There are no campgrounds on the mountain.

What are the dining options on Beech Mountain?
From causal to fine dining, there are several restaurants to choose from on Beech Mountain. Please visit our dining page for further details. You can also pass by the Visitor Center to view sample menus and pick up a list of current operating hours.

Do any of the restaurants on Beech Mountain deliver?
Currently, the restaurants on the mountain offer dine in or take out options only. There are no food delivery services operating on the mountain.

Is there a grocery store on Beech Mountain?
Fred’s General Mercantile carries a line of essential groceries that is perfect for a short stay.

Where is the Sledding Hill located?
The Sledding Hill is located on the field behind the Brick Oven Pizzeria. The entrance in found on Bark Park way, across from the Pay to Park lot. Sledding is not permitted in any location other than the Sledding Hill. The Sledding Hill is for kids 12 years old and under and requires the use of a plastic sled. Where can I rent or buy a plastic sled?
Plastic sleds are available for rent at Beech Meadows Ski Shop and The White Wolf Lodge. Sleds can also be purchased at Fred’s General Mercantile.

Are there playgrounds on Beech Mountain?
There are three playgrounds. They are located next to the Bark Park on Bark Park Way, at Fire station #2 on St. Andrew’s Road and at the Buckeye Recreation Center.

Is there a golf course on Beech Mountain?
The Beech Mountain Club is a private club which offers a full 18-hole course to its members. Go to their website.
