Woolly Worm Festival

This quirky and extremely popular festival is just 4 miles from Beech Mountain. The main events are the fun Woolly Worm races, competing to earn the prestigious honor of predicting the high country winter weather and win the $1000 bounty. Races are open to all, and worms are available to purchase. Also browse many craft and art vendors, feast on a variety of food, enjoy children’s activities and more. It’s a fundraiser for many non-profits in the area. Held on the Greene in downtown Banner Elk, Saturday 9-5 and Sunday 9-4. Admission. Pets not allowed (too crowded!).
