Many couples flock to Beech Mountain to be married in the Highest Town on the East Coast. With majestic views, quaint locations, and great weather for spring, summer, or fall weddings, you will be hard pressed to find a better location.
Whether you just need a location, or are looking to have your entire wedding planned, there are several options for traditional and unique ways of tying the knot.
Beech Alpen Inn
Tie in the knot in a beautiful setting reminiscent of the Bavarian Alps. The Beech Alpen Inn, which has been featured on Martha Stewarts Destination Weddings, has a great outdoor pavillion with wonderful views and ample room for guests. On-site catering available via the Alpen Restaurant.
“Make it easy—rent the entire hotel and dining room for your special weekend, and delight your family and friends with a destination wedding they’ll never forget!”
Beech Mountain Resort
Beech Mountain Resort has the ability to offer the whole package, from a ceremony at the top of the mountain accessed via chairlift, to an indoor wedding in the Alpine Village lodge at the base of the slopes. The resort can provide wedding planning services, catering options, and music choices.
With its variety of venues, Beech Mountain Resort can accommodate weddings of most any size. The View Haus, remodeled in 2014, seats 400 and the Beech Tree lodge, remodeled in 2015, has a seating capacity of 200 guests. The resort’s skybar, aptly named 5506’, is the perfect setting for an intimate wedding of 50-75 atop Beech Mountain at an elevation of 5,506 feet. The Beech Mountain Brewing Company brewery is a great locale for pre- and post-wedding occasions.
Land of Oz
For those who would like a unique twist, make a grand entrance on the Yellow Brick Road finished with a honeymoon in Auntie Em’s house.
Perched in a meadow with panoramic views of the High Country, the rustically elegant 6,500-square-foot renovated barn is a popular spot for weddings. The Overlook Barn features 30-foot arched ceilings with exposed wood beams. The facility includes: high-end acid-stained concrete floors, stalls for additional event space, four bathrooms and two preparation suites for brides and grooms: The Styling Suite and Polishing Room. Additionally, there are string lights and electric outlets throughout the property to allow flexibility for all events. The Overlook Barn can accommodate 250 guests for a seated dinner.
In late 2016, a second venue was added, the Cliffside Barn. This is a 1,000-square-foot barn with original hardwood floors, exposed-beam arched ceilings, a new 45-light chandelier, glass garage door that opens to stunning views, and large covered deck with 750 square feet of additional event space. It can be used for smaller ceremonies, rehearsal dinners, welcome parties or as an add-on to larger ceremonies in the Overlook Barn.
