Summer at Beech Mountain Resort
Beech Mountain Resort isn’t just for skiing anymore as the warmer months bring a variety of activities for people of all ages. Mile high yoga, downhill mountain biking, outdoor concerts, beginner mountain biking lessons and disc golf are available at various times from late May through early September. Also available are food & beverage options at 5506′ Skybar at the mountaintop or Beech Mountain Brewing Co. in the resort village. Mile High Yoga
Every Saturday at 10 a.m. (Aug 3-Sept. 1) Sundays in Aug. at 10 a.m. (Aug. 5, 12, 19, 26) Take your relaxation to new heights by riding the shuttle to the observation deck of the 5506′ Skybar for these special yoga sessions. The resort’s hand-picked instructors bring a wealth of knowledge and passion to help you strengthen your body, calm your mind, and find a little inspiration for the rest of your journey. Cost is $12 and tickets may be purchased at Ski Beech Sports in the resort village. Yoga mat rentals are available for $2. Arrive between 9 a.m. and 10 a.m. to purchase tickets and ride the shuttle ($1) to the summit. Sessions begin at 10:30 a.m. For more information, click here.
Downhill Mountain Biking
Saturday/Sunday: 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. (Aug 3–Sept. 3) Fridays: 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. (Aug 2-Aug. 31) Thursdays: 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. (Aug 1-Aug. 30) Each summer, the ski slopes at Beech Mountain Resort become downhill biking trails. Take your pick from beginner, moderate and advanced trails. There’s something for everyone, even the most advanced riders. Beech Mountan Resort has twice hosted USA Cycling’s Mountain Biking Gravity Nationals, challenging the best riders in the country. Cost is $10 for a single downhill ride or $35 for a day pass. Juniors 12 and under receive a day pass for $28. Ages five and under ride free with a paid adult. Mountain bike rentals are also available at Ski Beech Sports in the resort village. Music at 5506′ Skybar
Saturdays at 2:30 p.m. (Aug 3-Sept. 1) The coolest mountaintop bar east of the Rockies is the place to catch live music every Saturday between June 2 and Sept. 1. The resort’s summer music series combines great bands, cold beverages and spectacular panoramic views of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Because of such natural beauty, Wine Enthusiast magazine included the 5506’ Skybar on its list of “8 Sizzling Ski Resort Bars in America”. Concerts start at 2:30 p.m. each Saturday, weather permitting. Cost is $1 to ride the shuttle to the Skybar. The concerts themselves are free. Saturday/Sunday: 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. (Aug 3-Sept. 3) Fridays: 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. (Aug 2-Aug. 31) Thursdays: 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. (Aug 1-Aug. 30) Beech Mountain Resort is home to an 18-hole disc golf course that flows down the slopes. The professionally-built course takes advantage of the ridges and natural topography of the ski resort to produce a memorable experience for beginners and experts alike. The course plays mostly downhill and features Innova Discatcher Pro Targets, framed Disconcepts Launch pads and custom tee signs. There is no cost to play the 18-hole course if you choose to walk to the first tee. Shuttle ride to the first tee is $1. Disc rental is $10 for a set of three. For more information, click here.
Tubby by Neveplast is an innovative dry summer tubing track that allows the tube to slide and glide down our 150-foot-long track, invoking summertime fun that is safe, consistent, and sure to thrill! Summer Outdoor Skating
Mile High Skating is an outdoor family roller skating rink to be experienced by ALL ages! Breathe in the clean summer mountain air and take in our incredible views of the cascading Blue Ridge mountains all while roller skating to fun summer music! For more information, click here.
Beech Mountain Brewing Company
Sundays: 10 am to 4 pm w/brunch (Aug 4-Oct 28) Saturdays: 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. (Aug 3-Oct. 27) Fridays: 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. (Aug 2-Oct. 26) Thursdays: 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. (Aug 1-Oct. 25) Enjoy locally-brewed craft beer from Beech Mountain Brewing Co., located in the village at the base of Beech Mountain Resort. The brewery was recently renovated and expanded to meet the demand for craft beer by visitors to Beech Mountain. The brewery is great place to kick back and relax after a day of mountain biking or sightseeing at Beech Mountain Resort. The brewery features its four flagship ales, along with seasonal offerings and a guest tap rotation. Brunch is served on Sundays.
