As Coronavirus (COVID-19) continues to impact our nation, we want to share an update on the steps being taken by Beech Mountain.

Beech Mountain is committed to the well-being and safety of our community members and visitors. Like you, we’re concerned about the presence of the novel coronavirus, also known as COVID-19, in the United States and Abroad and the potential effects on our community, visitors and people world-wide and are taking the necessary steps, such as working with the Federal, state and local governments and health authorities to help combat the spread of this pandemic.

That being said, in times like this, the resilient nature of our North Carolina Mountain town is not to be underestimated. Now, more than ever, we appreciate our community members who have made Beech Mountain their home over the years, and visitors both new and old who continue to come back time and time again.

During this unprecedented event, it is our mission to keep our residents and visitors informed and focus on the health and safety of all those who live or travel to Beech Mountain. While we understand that this will impact your travel plans, we want to keep you updated with the steps we are taking to keep your health and safety top of mind.

We’re continuing to monitor the COVID-19 situation closely as it continues to evolve and request that you continue to stay up to date with COVID-19 related updates via the homepage of our website. While you cannot be with us in person during this time, we invite you to do the following:

  • Join in on our efforts to spread a little bit of weekly Beech Mountain happiness using the hashtag #MyFavBeechMtnMemory, tag us in your favorite photos from past trips to Beech Mountain for a chance to be reposted.

If you are on the mountain, please know that all North Carolina restaurants are prohibited from offering on-site dining. However, five local restaurants are remaining open for carry-out service only. Their hours vary, so you’ll want to call ahead.  The available dining options are:

Beech Alpen Restaurant: 828-387-2252

Bullwinkel’s: 828-387-2354

Fred’s Backside Deli: 828-387-9331

Mi Jalisco: 828-387-4344

Poppy’s Coffee Shop: 828-278-2016

For your shopping needs, Fred’s General Mercantile is open 7 am-10 pm seven days a week.

To protect yourself and others, please take the following precautions as recommended by the CDC:

  • Wash your hands frequently with warm water and soap for at least 20 seconds;
  • Avoid sharing food and drinks;
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth;
  • Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue or into your elbow; and
  • Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces.
