North Carolina’s Governor Cooper asks that all North Carolinians keep safety in mind, and limit indoor gatherings to 10 people. Restaurants on Beech Mountain continue to be limited to 50% capacity, and masks are required when entering all businesses and offices on the mountain. While groceries and supplies in the High Country are more plentiful than earlier in the pandemic, you will want to bring some of your own supplies and food with you to avoid shortages.
If you are traveling to the mountain for Thanksgiving, please be aware that the ski resort may or may not be open for skiing. They will have the Beech Mountain Brewery and the sports shop open Saturday and Sunday, November 21st and 22nd, and again Friday, Saturday and Sunday, November 27-29. They will make snow as the weather allows, but it is unseasonably warm for this time of year. The Town Sledding Hill will also be making snow as the weather allows, but it may also be closed if the weather doesn’t cooperate.
Fresh air and a peaceful environment are in abundance, as always, so any trip to Beech Mountain still has its benefits for body and soul. But use your best judgement during this pandemic, and keep yourselves and those around you as safe as possible. Call us at the Beech Mountain Visitor Center, 828-387-9283, for updates on the Sledding Hill, and check with www.beechmountainresort.com for updates on when the ski resort will open for the season.
